Additional information
UV
- Three types of UVs: RAISED, GLOSS or MATTE can be used on the same artwork.
- Raised UV is a special thick varnish that gives an emboss look on the artwork, make sure to set it up
1/8” away from any edge or fold, if raised UV is folded or cut, it flakes or breaks.
- Spot color names to use: MATTE UV, UV SPOT GLOSS, UV, SpotUV.
Foil Stamping
- Note that Foil Stamping is OPAQUE; it needs to overprint on top of artwork. Remember, no type should be placed under foil or it won’t show. Do not knock out the ink under the foil. Foil is applied last after the print. The most used foils are Gold and Silver.
- Foil spot color names to use: FOIL, GOLDFOIL, SILVERFOIL
Emboss
- Emboss can be single or multi leveled. Emboss can’t be folded or trimmed because the cardboard fiber will break. Therefore, you must set your emboss file 1/8” away from any edge or fold.
- Emboss spot color names to use: EMBOSS, Level1, Level2, Level3
