2. Install the .joboptions in Acrobat Distiller. RE_PressQual_14.joboptions
These joboptions can be installed by double-clicking, which will automatically make it available for Distiller and on all the Creative Suite software you are using.
WARNING: if you have more than one Creative Suite on your computer, the job options will only be active on the one Distiller that installed it.
If you need to install it for CS3, then you have to open Acrobat Distiller 8 and drag the file RE_PressQual_14.joboptions into the Distiller box, restart CS3 and it will become available in the Output Styles.
NOTE: This job option is a 1.4 PDF compliancy; it can be used from Acrobat 5.0.

For Quark Users
3. Import Ross-Ellis output styles in Quark. RossEllisPDF_Comp and RossEllisPDF_CompSpot
Go to Edit > Output Styles, click Import and browse for RossEllisPDF_Comp or RossEllisCompSpot, then click Import, Click OK.
NOTE: If your file is intended to print in CMYK, the Output Style RossEllisPDF_Comp will do the CMYK converting for you.
4. Setting up the PDF Workflow preferences
Go to QuarkXpress > Preferences > PDF: Click “Create PostScript file for later Distilling”. This enables you to manipulate the Postscript file and use it through Distiller. Click OK.
